International Women’s Day …
I’ve spent bits and pieces of my day wondering about International Women’s Day.
Now, I want to simply say that I’m grateful to be a woman–body, mind, and spirit. I love what we’ve been gifted with. And, yes, I want to celebrate the gift. For me, that celebration feels like sitting with what’s sacred.

Lack of resistance is like magic …
Open up to the possibility that your partner’s view point is just as viable as yours. When he/she says something contrary to what you think, particularly about you, instead of reacting defensively, consider the words, “maybe you’re right.”
Lack of resistance is like magic. It removes the sting that we attached to the truth! It frees us to move on in love and be happy … in our relationship and in life.… More
Desire Arouses Desire …
He’s just not that interested in sex anymore … and desire has always been a big turn-on for me.
She said the words, without realizing their significance, during a weekend retreat designed to help her and her husband restore intimacy in their relationship. Women want to be sexually desired. It’s in their genes … and, for the most part, they work at it.
So, when men don’t demonstrate their longing, women can be sorely disappointed.
What many women don’t seem to understand is that men are also turned on by their partner’s yearning … and this can be particularly true in a committed relationship, in which the man is foregoing the variety he’s biologically driven to seek out.

If your partner no longer seems sexually attracted to you, your ego alone offers you reason enough to be nonchalant. Smile. And, yes, your nonchalance (like his) can be a big turn off. And the hard-to-get strategy can be downright ineffective played amidst the daily grind, breeding more resentment than desire.
If you want your partner to demonstrate heated desire, demonstrate your own.… More
When we do our part, it feels like enough …
We’re not really at the mercy of somebody else. And this resonates for me in today’s political climate. Most of us won’t run for a political office or lead a revolution, but a true revolution happens one person at a time. We have a voice. And we can do more than vote with it.
When we choose at home, we also choose in the world at large.
You know better than I what you can do, but this list could be a place to start, right now:
~ Assume responsibility for peace in our own home
~ Give a hand-up to those who need it in our extended family
~ Balance our own household budget
~ Buy American-made products when we can find them
~ Get healthy in body, mind, and spirit
Let’s take world peace, assistance for those who need it, a balanced budget, fair trade, and healthcare reform into our own hands. And while we’re at it, we can know and demonstrate self-verification.
I’m not suggesting what to say, just that we say our piece, rather than complain that somebody else isn’t saying it.
