Dear Friends: To complicate the truth, is to muddy it …

The truth isn’t really complicated. And when we insist on complicating it, we muddy it. Granted, it can be difficult for us to reach the truth, but when we do, it’s simple.

The truth is always founded on love. Without love, there is no starting point, no foundation to build on. We never choose between love and our self, or between love and our God. The choice is always between love and fear.

Do you want to put the ice cream back in the freezer because you’re afraid of getting fat? OR do you want to sit down and eat the whole carton because you’re afraid you’ll always be fat, no matter what?

You get the idea. We can struggle to identify what we’re really afraid of. But when we do, our course of action is clear. We can act on the simple truth, without excuses, without blame, without guilt. Those are what we use to complicate the truth … and eat the whole carton of ice cream.

Love smiles,
