My favorite jog is on the beach in my bare feet. But I’m so thankful to have both the river and the ocean within my view and my path. As within, so without … nurturing body, mind, and spirit in heaven.… More
We can’t reach peace, without trusting love …
The global peace we want starts in our own minds, our own hearts, our own hands, our own homes, our own streets. And the only prerequisite is opening to individual worth, ours and that of every other human being. That means knowing our self, in order to align our thoughts and behaviors with our values; therein lies self-worth. Then, we feel unthreatened by differences. Instead of attacking, we trust the love we have in common, enough to nurture it. And as we nurture love, we transcend the differences.
A closed mind is a scared one. An anxious mind is a scared one. And fear can’t birth peace. Love can. Love IS peace.… More

Dear Friends: True or False?
You know the Shakespeare quote, “This above all: To thine ownself be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.” As familiar as the words are, they wow me, almost daily. I see you. I know you. I love you.… More
Happy Birthday, Mom!
Barely old enough to talk, I explained to you that when I was the mother and you were the little girl, I didn’t do that to you. And science has proven that I may have known exactly what I was talking about. But it’s spirit that assures me that I did. Life is so very cool.
Here we are, almost 67 years later; and I am privileged to take care of you. Apparently, my role as mother was not yet satisfied. And I still had much to learn about loving unconditionally from a pure place. Ram Dass said, “You think you’re so enlightened, go and spend a week with your parents.”
And since you have shared so much about your relationship with your own mom, I know you can appreciate those words. I am, with you, in graduate school, learning to love from a pure place.
Thank you, Mom, for knowing my naked heart and my love, and for allowing me to know yours.
And so it is that we celebrate you, with the words of Hafiz, “Your heart and my heart are very, very old friends.”… More
