Sam and I drove over to Cedar Key on Saturday. The first stop was for Tony’s chowder and fried shrimp! Then we checked out the water and the fishing, walking around enough to sit down and indulge in a chocolate brownie with salty caramel and white chocolate! My baby was ready to head home. I was ready to sit quietly by the water. I conceded, without resistance.
Next thing I know, Sam’s doing a U-turn to look at something he forgot about. And as we follow the airstrip (planes are one of his passions), I spy an out-of-the-way place to be still with the water. Sam realizes he needs a nap. And we both know it’s perfect.
As Sam reclines his seat and I exit the car, he points to an eagle flying overhead … and we know all is right with our little world.
Unlike the ego, love allows things to happen, rather than trying to make them happen.
