Distress is an opportunity to heal …

Don’t dismiss what you or your partner feels when you’re tired, hungry, or hormonal. It’s okay to cut each other some slack; but distress is a window into the unconscious! So, use what surfaces in distress as an opportunity to heal what hurts … and it won’t hurt anymore! … More

No tension …

Revel in your feelings …

I will allow my feelings; I will revel in them. I am not afraid of them — however intense. If I’m not sure they are reciprocated, I can ask questions to find out. If the questions go unappreciated or unanswered, I will still have the answers I need. I will still have my own feelings. And I can redirect them, and continue to grow my capacity to feel. … More

Don’t cut each other too much slack …

Happy Weekend, Friends:

My baby wanted beach time with family! It was “his event.” He planned, packed, and grilled. And I learned to trust just a little bit more. I asked him if he needed aluminum foil, a knife, a trash bag. We are a team, and it’s okay for me to be supportive and remind him of what we might need.

But it’s NOT okay for me to be afraid that he might forget something! And he can sense my fear–even if it’s just a tiny bit of fear! And therein lies the true value of our partnership. We both have the same resolve to love fearlessly! And we cut each other very little slack! … More

So, in case you need a reminder: God has the last word on you. And he has already said it! YOU ARE GOOD. No ifs, ands, or buts! … More

Compatibility …

The more you know yourself, the tougher it is to think (or pretend) that you are compatible with somebody else when you’re not! … More
